Explore Greystone

Greystone Estate has six living quarters – the Manor House, Guest House, Carriage House, Log Cabin, Pool House and Stone Cottage, each with a fascinating history and located in serene settings throughout the property. Soothing sounds of Upper Bear Creek, views of snow capped mountains, abundant elk and deer, towering ponderosa pines are the natural splendors surrounding the accommodations at Greystone.

Greystone Manor and Estate is one of kind. In 1914, Genevieve Chandler Phipps purchased 1000 acres on Upper Bear Creek as the site for the retreat and permanent home she intended to build. Genevieve commissioned renowned Denver architect Maurice Briscoe and noted Scottish carpenter, Jock Spence, to construct Greystone which was completed in 1917. She entertained through the 1920’s Prohibition Era and hosted notable guests such as Mae West and Groucho Marx.

(Retreat at Greystone) The only thing more magical than being enveloped in the warmth of a mountain home and the breathtaking beauty of nature is sharing it with a community of kind, open-hearted people. When I attended Dr. Sue’s…retreat in Evergreen, I was going through a difficult time of transition in my life, and I found great healing in the comforts of that safe space and in the wisdom of Dr. Sue’s teachings. Nourished by wholesome food, enriching conversation, and powerful healing practices, I left feeling energized and empowered to move forward in my life in a meaningful and purposeful way. I am forever grateful!
