History
Greystone Manor and Estate is one of kind. In 1914, Genevieve Chandler Phipps purchased 1000 acres on Upper Bear Creek as the site for the retreat and permanent home she intended to build. Genevieve commissioned renowned Denver architect Maurice Briscoe and noted Scottish carpenter, Jock Spence, to construct Greystone which was completed in 1917. She entertained through the 1920’s Prohibition Era and hosted notable guests such as Mae West and Groucho Marx.
